Item: 1/32 U.S. Air Force Korean War Jet Pilot Manufacturer: Master Details Advantages: Multiple poses, excellent sculpting, accurate proportions, minimal casting blocks, decals, painting guide. Disadvantages: None Noted. Master Details continues to bring new pilot figures to the market. Their latest venture expands the timeframe of periods covered by their figures to include Korea. Having provided excellent figures from pre-WWII, WWII and Vietnam, their latest release, a U.S.A.F Jet Pilot in Korean War garb is a welcome addition from a significant period of history that has long been neglected. The figure itself, conforms to Master Details usual high standards for detail and value. No less than four heads with a variety of goggle and oxygen mask combinations as well as two sets of arms are provided. In addition, a separate oxygen mask with a hose is also included. Casting blocks and flash are minimal and there will be far less cleanup required here than with most other resin figures. What is really amazing is that the goggles are sculpted over full facial detail allowing the lens to be simulated with clear epoxy. Having just employed this technique on one of their figures, I can assure you it produces an amazingly realistic result. Master Details also includes decals to represent the U.S.A.F insignia for the helmet and shoulders and a very comprehensive painting guide and set of instructions. It is a great package and far more value given all the options than are found in many figure kits with no options costing far more. This figure would be the ideal complement to the Kinetic F-86 or the Czech Model P-80. Thanks to Master Details for the review sample.
