Disadvantages: None noted.

I suppose it is kind of strange to have a favorite bomb, but ever since I first saw pictures of the “snake eye” bomb when working on my first Vietnam era project, it has been my favorite addition to add to my jets from that period. I even made castings of the snake eyes from the Revell 1/48 A-6 Intruder to add to the old Fujimi kit. The latest release from Master Details makes that attempt laughable.

Master Details has expanded their line of highly detailed bombs in 1/32nd scale to include the high drag version of the Mk. 82 GP bomb. The set comes with 2 bombs. With Master Details, however, it is all about the options and this set is no different. Alternate parts include mechanical impact nose fuses, mechanical time fuses, conical nose plugs, target recognition devices, “daisy cutter” fuse extenders and lugs for both pylon and triple ejector racks. A comprehensive painting guide is also included which is especially helpful in covering the various options for inert or live weapons.

All in all, this is a great set and one that should add a special touch to your next 1/32 F-4, F-100, F-8 or A-7.
