Advantages: Multiple poses, excellent sculpting, accurate proportions, no casting blocks.

Disadvantages: None noted.

Continuing their tradition of high quality and maximum value, Master Details has recently released two new figures sure to bring a smile to large scale World War II Luftwaffe fans.  The first is a seated fighter pilot from the mid to late war period.  As with their previous releases, the figure is cast in a light cram colored resin and is beautifully detailed.  Master Details have kept the casting blocks to a minimum greatly easing the process of getting the figure assembled.  A modest amount of thin flash was present on my sample, but a few swipes with a sanding stick should take care of it with little difficulty.  In keeping with their earlier figure releases, the figure comes with numerous options including two separate sets of arms and four different head options that permit you to model the figure either holding the control stick or not and with the goggles up or down and oxygen mask on or off.   A separate oxygen mask with hose is also included with the set.  All of the parts are well detailed and proportioned.

Also new is a standing Luftwaffe Ground crewman.  While not offering any alternate poses, the figure is sculpted equally well and is depicted holding a starter crank and pipe.   I was particularly impressed with the subtle sculpting of the fabric folds on this figure which add substantially to the realism.

Both of these figures would literally add life to your Hasegawa Fw-190, Bf-109 or Ju-87 kits and I highly recommend them.

Thanks to Master Details for the review sample.
